How can you not wove Silva?!? Ya gotta love him. He's a kider a pirate and all around good guy. He's not one of those typical Disney villans where there like: "Dude I'm so mean I'm gonna kill you and your little dog too!" Lol Nah! Silv's not like that. I mean he actually chose Jim over a life times supply of infinte gold that they've been searching for for like EVER! And I mean, once ya save somebody from falling into a pit of hot lava, everyone knows your the good guy now. His cyborg arm is cute to. I wanta dislodge it and run around with it Like one of the guys in the commentary said (I'm not good with voices) "to me, a villian, who is really nice to his dog, is no real villan." He's a softie. "Don't be to put off by this hunk o' hardware!"

I just listened to that part of the commentary yesterday--the part about a villain being nice to his dog. I do like Silver as a villain, although it's hard for me to call him a villain because it's obvious he has such a good heart when it comes to "Jimbo" and Morph. I also enjoy his voice. It can be mean and gruff in one scene and incredibly warm and sympathetic in the next. I also think it's cool that he is the first 2D character combined with 3D features and it looks so natural.

I wonder something though--what was Silver before he became a cyborg? His nose looks kind of leonine in my opinion...not sure about his ears. Any ideas?

Silver is one of the most complex characters Disney has created I think. He's the villain yet also one of the good guys. I really like it how they portrayed his character in the movie. From reading Treasure Island, you don't read much of his character because it is Jim who is telling most of the story and he's like what, 10?

I love Silver more than anything. I keep hoping I meet someone like him to tag along with. He actually reminds me of a teacher I had in highschool

Oh, awesome! So they did make "behind-the-scenes" books on the film. I must find that one!
I agree--Silver kind of walks the fine line between being a mentor and being a villain. I don't think that has ever been done before in any Disney film.

And Byain Murry's voice on Silver is just Phomoninal Silver is a big teddy bear! Some times I feal like I just want to put him in a bunny suit and give him a big hug! I actually Role Played that I put him in a bunny suit once! I kept kicking him and telling him to be the Easter bunny and be bunny like! Lol Silver hated me for it. He Riped of the bunny suit, (had his cloathes under the suit don't worry) put it on me and started kicking me around and telling me to be bunny-like. We were both sore yesterday. (all this RPing took place on Gaiaonline.com) I always do insane roleplays like that with myself. One time I actaully took Silver's cyborg arm out of his socket and began running around with it. Yes I'm offishally crazy for him

LOL! Huzzah! Another crazy roleplayer! You should join the purp fight. Back on topic, Silver's voice actor is great! I think the climax of his acting came when Jim and Silver said goodbye. That part is so deep. *wipes away a tear* Does anyone have a tissue?

Yeah....I watched Treasure Planet like A galzion times so I don't cry as much, my eyes just tear up and that's it. I remember I used to be a facet of tears when I watched it for only my 1 through 10th time.

I hardly ever cry at movies (I've only ever really cried at about 5 or 6 in my life), but that scene is one of the few that make me tear up a little.
