Now, I know Morph is all fun and games on the movie. But as I watched it the last time, it seemed to me that everything happened because of Morph. I mean, if Morph hadn't hidden in the purp barrel, Jim wouldn't have heard that whole conversation with the pirates. And he changed into the map on purpose after snatching the map away. So my question to you guys is...
Did Morph mean to lure Jim into the barrel on purpose?

Good question. Judging by the commentary on the DVD, I'm going to say it was innocent play on Morph's part. The directors go into deep explanation of Morph's character and they say he has the purest heart of any character in the film. He also doesn't understand serious situations very well. I think he was just goofing off and inadvertently put Jim in the wrong place at the wrong time--or maybe...the right place at the right time? BTW, I like the title of this thread. I might use that title to make another section on the board.

;D Well, I'm glad you liked the title.
I should watch the commentary, though. I never got around to doing that because every time I watch it I'm with my little sisters and they are not as big as fans as I am and think that stuff is boring. Now I have something to do this weekend! Sweetness!

The commentary is pretty good. I haven't watch it through all the way yet. I jump from scene to scene and watch a little to a time, but it's great to learn the secrets behind each part of the film.

I watched the whole commentary like *remembers I can't swear* *cough* *cough* Well alot of times! Like about a gabillion times! I love it every time. Mostly what I hear in the commentary about those deleted scenes they liked, will get put in my Treasure Planet remake! I can't post it on here when I'm done though, cause it's rated PG for more swearing and violence then the orginal..........Darn I might get sued for that >o<

Morph played a big role in the flim! Everything happend because of him in a way! ......Except for Scroop attacking Jim for no reason, that was all Scroop's fault.

According to the commentary, that was originally supposed to be Mr. Hands guarding the ship (I guess it follows along with the way Treasure Island was originally told), but they said Scroop was much scarier. This is just my opinion, but Scroop does bother me. Hands creeps me out. I don't know why. He just does.

In My fanfic (still writing it) Hands ends up holding me down while Scroop pins Jim to the mast. When Silver Squeeses Scroop's claw and drops Jim, Hands gets destracted and I kick him off.

I'm just glad Hands was one of the first to go during the mutiny, although...does anyone else wonder what happened to Snuff? We don't see him anymore after the crew spots Treasure Planet.

I have a thery that Snuff leaned to look to far out to look at Treasure Planet and fell off the Legacy. LOL it could happen!

I watched half of the commentary so far. I kind of wished Hands was in Scroop's place, though. That one scene they took out when Jim was behind a table in the galley looked really cool! I wish they hadn't switched roles.
And Hands was better as that character in Treasure Island. Scroop was just evil. The guy in Treasure Island that played him was just big and tough like Hands.

As far as having to watch and listen to the characters in the film though, I'll take Scroop over Hands. I'm glad the latter character's role was so small. He bothers me! *hides in a purp barrel with Jim and Morph*
